Action Teams

Action Teams are made up of YP members who want to be actively involved in making a difference in YP Reno County and ultimately our community. They are the decision makers and the driving force behind our events, services and programs. Teams meet once a month for about an hour. If you have questions about an Action Team, please contact them by using the email addresses below.

How Young Professionals Are Making the Connection

The Connection Team is all about initiating and promoting efforts in Reno County to unite people, businesses and organizations. We connect our members to the unique assets and people in Reno County by coordinating informative luncheons on topics of special interest. This team also plans “Breakfast with the CEO” events, where local business leaders share their stories and advice on how their careers have grown over their lifespans.

YP Luncheons

YP Luncheons are held on a bi-monthly basis in Hutchinson. Each session takes place over the noon hour, includes lunch, and features a theme of importance to YP’s. Past YP Luncheons have been held to help YP’s learn about buying a new home, recycling, volunteerism and starting a business. YP Luncheons are free to members and $5 non-members. Check out the calendar for the next scheduled luncheon.

Are you interested in presenting a YP Luncheon? Please fill out and submit our request form.

Breakfast with the CEO

Breakfasts are held bi-monthly (during the months when a luncheon is not held) at 7:00 a.m. Breakfasts are free to members and open to non-members for a $5 fee. If you are interested in presenting email

Finding Our Voice and Making Sure it is Heard

As young professionals we have a great opportunity to influence and shape Reno County. The Voice team was created to encourage community involvement, establish a lasting structure for YP Reno County, facilitate social and professional networking, and promote growth. Voice has made a commitment to listening to our members and taking action. We will use these four “wishes” and future ideas to influence positive change and involvement in our Reno County community.

The Service Team is all about volunteering in the community and helping out where we are needed. We connect our members with unique and interesting opportunities to help Reno County by coordinating volunteer opportunities. Service has already generated many opportunities for YP members to participate in, and we’d love to see you at a few of these:

  • Trail and Treat 5K breakfast
  • Adopting a family over the holidays
  • Mingle giving opportunities and fundraisers for local programs

The Social Aspect of Young Professionals

Pulse is the social committee responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of YP’s social events and activities. Our goal is to create events to help build a peer-based network of young professionals in our community who work together and play together, with a long-lasting interest in this community.

We currently host a Monthly Mingle on the 2nd Thursday of every, Dinner Nights, and an annual Family BBQ.
Pulse is also the home of YPAAA, the short for Young Professionals Athletics and Activities Association, and is your opportunity to get involved in the recreational aspects of the community. Teams are added as demand merits and we currently list all activities on the Calendar pages by the date of the event and also by the team registration deadline if applicable. Visit the calendar to see up and coming deadlines or to find out when you can participate or watch a YP athletic event or activity. Past activities include Yoga classes, Knitting days at Yarn, Co-Ed Softball, Women’s Volleyball, and Book Club.

Our social and networking opportunities will link you with like-minded young professionals and help ease the transition into a new community and career or engage you if already settled and calling Hutchinson home.
